Turner Farm
Location
The Turner farm is located two miles north and a 1/2 east of House, NM. Access is by county road.
Tenure
The property is 160 acres in size and at one time, from the 1940’s to the 1960’s, was a farm irrigated by irrigation well.
Farm operation
There are six irregularly shaped fields totaling 79 acres enrolled in the Conservation Reserve Program (CRP). The contract runs from Oct 1, 2007 until Sep 30, 2017 and the annual contract payment is $2,641. Under the CRP contract, the fields will be mowed twice; fields 1, 2, 3, and 4 will be mowed between July 2, 2008 and Sep 30, 2008 and fields 5 and 6 will be mowed between Nov 1, 2008 to Feb 28, 2009 or July 2, 2009 to Sep 30, 2009. The mowing is on a 50% cost share basis for a maximum of $13 per acre. This is in addition to the annual contract payment.

Improvements
The property is fenced by barbed wire with the exception of a quarter mile on the southeast side. The fences are in poor condition on the north and east sides and excellent condition on the west and southwest sides. The seller will construct a new fence on the southeast side that is currently unfenced.
There are five wells on the property; none of which are in working condition now. Three wells are domestic/stock wells; one is dry and the other two have water. The other two wells are sixteen-inch irrigation wells that have water in them.
There are some old rock buildings on the property however there is not a residence. Electricity comes to the center of the property
